ESR series heat tracing cables are exceptional heating cables. Constructed of a semi-conductive heater polymer(also named as “PTC”) extruded between parallel bus wires with the addition of insulation layer. They are widely applied to pipelines and storage tanks for process temperature maintenance.



ESR Self-regulating heat tracing cable is a flat-shaped cable which composed of conducting plastics, 2 pieces of parallel oxygen-free tinned cooper wires as durable conductor, insulation layer and fluoropolymer outer jacket for protecting from corrosion, which also make our ESR heating cable has a perfect performance on strong fire retardant. The conducting plastic which developed on our own formula, has the feature of positive temperature coefficient (also called as PTC) and is in parallel connection; it is capable for regulating output power of the heated system to limit the heating temperature automatically, which makes the operation more intelligent and convenient, also much more energy-saving.

Also, they can be used for anti-freeze of large pipes and applications where high exposure temperatures are required.

The maximum withstand high temperature of our ESR electrical heating cable is up to 240℃.

With a holding temperature up to 150℃(302°F) and a Max. exposure temperature 240℃(464°F), ESR self-regulating heat tracing cables are fit for various applications, including those of steam purging, especially chemicals, power supply and other places where corrosion resistance is required.

As the heating elements are parallel to each other, it can regulate its heat output automatically all along its length according to the change of the ambient temperature, at low temperatures,the polymer shrinks, there are many conductive paths, allowing current to flow between conductors, on the contrary, as temperature increases, it disconnects the circuit to reduce heat generation automatically, then it loops depending on the change of the temperature.

In some applications, thermostat is not needed. For maintaining a precise target operating temperature, use of a thermostat is strongly recommended.


Moreover, high temperature heating cable is explosion-proof with a durable tinned cooper braid layer, while the insulation layer and outer jacket is made of corrosive- resistant fluoropolymer, making it perfect for hazardous locations.

In addition to the advantages of self-limiting temperature, it can wrap itself without the danger of overheating or burnout, safety enough for operating. Furthermore, due to the parallel structure design, this high temperature cable can be cut in length according to different needs.
